The evocative setting of Lacco Ameno, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th June 2019, will host the 40th edition of the Ischia International Journalism Award. Since 1980, the recognition is given to those journalists who, during their career, have distinguished themselves for professionalism and respect for ethics and have seen leading names such as, just to name a few, Indro Montanelli, Enzo Biagi and Giorgia Bocca.

Among the numerous festivals that take place on the island of Ischia, the Feast of Santa Restituta is the one that most involves the town of Lacco Ameno, as the patron saint of the island the cult for the martyr is particularly felt.
It is one of the most picturesque re-enactments of Ischia: in Lacco Ameno, from 16 to 18 May 2019, the Feast of Santa Restituta is celebrated. To honor the saint of African origin who, according to legend, arrives in San Montano da Cartagine transported by angels, a procession is organized in the sea. Once landed on land and carried in procession, the statue of the Saint crosses streets in celebration, lit by the light of the fireworks.
The party takes place over several days and is divided into various events. Do not miss the evening of May 16 in the bay of San Montano the theatrical show of the landing of the Saint and the procession by sea in the second afternoon of May 17: the bust of Restituta, covered with jewels ex voto, is embarked on a boat that makes a brief tour to the municipality of Casamicciola and here the statue will be carried in procession to the church of Lacco Ameno.
